About Us

Ruqya is a practice in Islam that involves reciting the Quran, supplications, and divine names to seek a cure for spiritual, physical, psychological, or emotional ailments. It is a means through which a believer may turn to Allah for assistance. Scholars and practitioners have various methods to practice ruqya, and as long as they conform to the Sacred Law, they are lawful.

The Qur’an describes itself as a cure and mercy for believers . Numerous narrations establish the permissibility of using the Qur’an to seek a cure. For example, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would recite the Mu’awwidhat over a member of his family who had fallen ill . The opening chapter of the Qur’an, the Fatiha, can also be used to seek a cure.

Ruqya is not only a means to cure but also to build our Iman and taqwa towards Allah the Merciful . Therefore, the essence of Ruqya is by no means ‘haram’ or ‘forbidden’.
